Blood orange and lemon aromas. Juicy and ripe on the palate, with flavours of orange, tangerine and yellow apple. Lovely concentration here, very nicely balanced, finishing with bright acidity and lingering lemon and a lick of spice and herb. A lesson in purity.

So much like a lot of people I watched the Netflix show first, and then purchased all the graphic novels after. I will say the show is pretty true to the original story, however, I do truly love these graphic novels a bit more. As an older member of the LGBTQ it is beautiful to kind of take a trip back to when I was younger in school. I can relate to both Nick's internal struggles and Charlie's outward struggle dealing with other students so it's kind of a two-fer for me personally. This graphic novels tells a lovely story of what actual LGBTQ youth are going through, and for us older folks what we wish we could of went through. Alice Oseman did a beautiful job illustrating this story, because not only were you reading the interactions, you could see the interactions which made it more personal and intimate. I highly recommend this series for not only youth, but for older persons as well. I cannot wait to see more of the Nick and Charlie series if Alice decides to continue their tale.

The beginning….

….of the Charlie and Nick story. And my first graphic novel. Having watched the tv series, thought I would read the book series. The drawings are cute, and of course with those graphics it’s a very quick read. Enjoyed it.
