Original German Map BoardPeriod German map board. Typically used for artillery plotting or by officers. It is a nice wooden frame with an aluminum plate and a sheet of clear plastic to allow you to put in a map and use a grease pencil to your hearts content. This one has a leather loop for a writing implement and 2 eyelets for a leather carrying strap. This one also has a sheet of paper for "winkelmessung" which appears to be more modern. These are interesting. I have found

Don't leave it in a hot garage, because the line will sometimes stick together when you get around to using it!
